It truly takes a miracle to bring new life into the world, especially when everything seems stacked against the expectant mother.
This little stray dog is living proof of the incredible challenges that can come with becoming a mother. Fuzz Ball Animal Rescue shared her heartwarming and inspiring story.
While crossing the street, a speeding car struck the helpless chihuahua, causing a permanent injury to her left hind leg. At the time of the collision, she was pregnant, and soon after, her water broke.
But things were far from easy for her. The puppy she was carrying was too large for the injured chihuahua to give birth to naturally, and she went into shock. Luckily, she was rescued by Fuzz Ball Animal Rescue.
After the puppy was safely delivered via caesarean section, the chihuahua’s injured leg had to be amputated. Despite all the challenges, the mother and her puppy were saved, and the new mom began to thrive.
Fuzz Ball Animal Rescue expressed their joy on Facebook, saying, “These are small miracles!” They marveled at how this brave chihuahua had endured so much: living as a stray, being hit by a car, giving birth to an oversized puppy, undergoing a C-section, and having her leg amputated, all while being in shock. This little chihuahua proved to be a true warrior.
More than four months later, Xena, as she was named, found her forever home. Her journey has been nothing short of incredible, and she has shown the world how strong and resilient she is. We wish Xena and her new family all the happiness in the world as they start this new chapter together.
