Kissmi’s Journey: From Struggle to Joyful Life
This is the story of a 4-5 month old puppy named Kissmi, who was shunned by many because of her bent legs. She had been living alone in a field, struggling to survive. However, kind-hearted people offered her food and care, helping her get by until she met the volunteers from the Sheremetyevo Dog Shelter.
Upon discovering her, the volunteers immediately took Kissmi to the vet, not knowing exactly what they were facing. After consulting with doctors, some suggested amputation and using a wheelchair to help her, but the volunteers couldn’t give up on her so easily. They reached out to multiple doctors, determined to give her a chance at a better life.
In the meantime, Kissmi began to enjoy the food and care she received. Although she was shy, she was also curious and affectionate, eager for attention. She was still just a puppy, after all, and needed love and affection more than anything.
For the first time in her life, Kissmi was surrounded by kindness and love, and she reveled in it. She adored being hugged and caressed, as this was likely the first time she had experienced such warmth.
When she met a chiropractor for the first time, Kissmi was scared and tried to run away. But soon, she realized that the doctor just wanted to help her, and she allowed the examination to take place.
“I was so happy when we got the good news that her strength was going to lead her to recovery,” said her foster mom. “It would be a long journey, but I believed we could win this together.”
Following the doctor’s advice, Kissmi received daily massages with special oils to promote bone growth and improve circulation. The chiropractic technique showed positive results as her legs began to slim down. For three weeks, Kissmi wore a plaster cast as part of her treatment.
As time passed, her condition improved. A special splint was ordered for her, and the volunteers continued their relentless efforts, giving her massages and vitamins to support her recovery. “The journey was full of sweat and tears,” her foster mom shared. “It took time, but the results were completely worth it.”
Then came the unforgettable day when Kissmi ran for the first time in her life, her joy and excitement evident in every step. She had learned to walk and run, and it was a moment of pure happiness for everyone involved.
Kissmi is now an incredibly clever and loving dog, growing healthier and happier with each passing day. A whole new life has opened up for her—a life filled with love, care, and the promise of a bright future.
