A terrified stray Pit Bull, found shivering on the streets of Detroit, is now safe thanks to the compassionate workers who found her in freezing conditions. Rebel Dogs of Detroit was alerted to a social media post about the large dog discovered outside Glasco Corporation. The workers had been trying unsuccessfully to secure her since 5 a.m. She had likely been outside all night, enduring the freezing temperatures.

“The kind workers did everything they could to help, covering her with blankets to prevent hypothermia until we arrived,” Rebel Dogs of Detroit shared in a Facebook post.
“Securing her was a challenge—this 130-pound dog was frozen in fear, growling, and trying to escape desperately,” they continued.
Thankfully, with patience and care, they were able to catch her using a catch pole. However, getting her into the car was another struggle, but they eventually succeeded.
“Despite her fear, we got her to safety! Now that she’s warm and secure, we can see that she’s still terrified, but we believe that deep down, she’s just a big baby waiting to feel safe,” they wrote.
Although she seems to be in good health, they continued to monitor her. They asked that anyone who believes the dog is lost should contact them with proof of ownership. “Otherwise, we’ll be calling her Gaana, and she will need a foster home after she has had time to decompress,” they stated.
They also added, “If you can open your home and heart to this big, scared girl, please apply to foster! She deserves to know she is safe.”
